JOAN ERBE

Joan’s father used to take her to the circus sideshows when she was a child,
and her family often hosted a variety of artistic, theatrical and circus folk.
These characters filled her head and manifested themselves in a variety of
media throughout her life. Fleckenstein Gallery is presenting her remaining
artwork for sale, and exhibiting the art she collected by her peers, students
and family friends, and some paintings from her early years.

Though our beloved Baltimore artist Joan Erbe has been gone for 10 years,
her vibrant character-driven art lives on.
