ARTIST STATEMENT
By trade I am a draftsman, carpenter, cabinet maker. It has always been about a building process, putting pieces together. It is no different with the life-long ebb and flow of my journey with visual arts. It is the development of doodles from sketchbooks, the working and reworking of the design, a level of a narrative if any, a self-perceived balance of composition, and the moment of completion that soothes the soul. Externally my emotional reward is when the viewer has mentioned that my whimsical works have added a smile to their face.
